Our camp has been going for over ten years at a variety of locations in British Columbia, from Galiano Island in 1999; to Paul Lake in 2001; to Green Lake from 2002 to 2004. We have been using the facilities of Chubb Lake Bible Camp at Chubb Lake since 2005.
At Chubb Lake we made the transition from tents to rustic cabins; rustic enough to accommodate the outdoor lovers; and cabin enough to accommodate those with more elegant taste.
Purpose
While the camp is intended for fun and fellowship, the focus of the week is on the edification of the soul. This is appropriately balanced between games and sports during the day and scriptural teaching in the evenings. Private devotional times of Bible study and prayer are emphasized for all campers.
Activities
- Sports activities range from soccer and volley ball to old fashioned games and sports activities.
- Scriptural teaching includes a Bible quiz on books of the Bible which have been assigned at least one month in advance. In the evening devotion times a theme is usually followed and a guest preacher deals with an assigned subject over the course of the week. The preaching of God’s word is a key emphasis of the camp week.
- Good food is also a big part of the week! With our own in-house chef (Mr. Kohlen), we enjoy home-cooked meals and the good fellowship of mealtimes. Please note that special diet needs can also accommodated.
